INSIDE THE SETUP
From Delivery to Production
Follow the real installation process, setup requirements, training and the first successful production result.
How It Arrives
The exciting part is finally here. Your new machine has arrived. With a little help you can remove the shipping box from the pallet and get it into your lab.
Through the Door and Into the Lab
The delivery pallet may be too large for a standard doorway. Once the shipping box is removed from the pallet it should easily fit through most standard doorways.
Final Setup Before Testing
At approximately 125 pounds, the Mayku is not a one person lift. Have two people ready to safely position the machine and ensure your bench or countertop is sturdy enough to support its weight.
Inside the Mayku Shipping Crate
The Mayku machine arrived with the boxes and accessories shown here.
Note: Dental models are shown for demonstration purposes only.
Initial Setup
Our first setup before production. A simple workspace focused on getting familiar with the machine and dialing everything in. Let the testing begin.
Getting to Know the Controls
After connecting to Wi Fi we spent some time getting familiar with the interface and controls while learning how to create custom material profiles for the materials we use every day in our lab.
Ready for the First Batch
We were excited to make our first pull using the large 428mm PETG material.
Note: For the initial test run, we decided to start with only 10 models.
The Moment of Truth
We were very happy with our first results. Since the 428mm PETG material profile is already built into the Mayku, we were able to focus on learning the machine before moving on to custom material profiles.
Our First 7 Shot Test
Next we tested some 2 mm Keystone material with the 7 shot setup. Considering it was our first attempt at creating a custom profile, it came out decent.
THE 7 STEP PROVE IT PROCESS
Talk Is Cheap.
Every Product Has to PROVE IT.
All products tested must prove itself through the same 7 step real world evaluation process.
Only then can it earn an official Ortho Outlaw rating.

How We Work With Manufacturers
Industry Relationships Never Determine the Outcome.
Some of the products and equipment featured in our reviews are purchased by us for our own ortho lab. Others are provided or sponsored by manufacturers to support the review process through product access, technical information or other collaborative efforts. Those relationships never determine the outcome. Every product is evaluated using the same PROVEN IT review process and every rating is earned through real ortho lab testing, long term performance and one simple question: Would I confidently use it in my own lab?
Some companies become resale partners. Others simply earn our respect.
01 How much does it cost?
At the time of our review the Mayku Multiplier Dental Bundle is priced at $11,999.
The Dental Bundle includes everything needed to begin forming appliances right out of the box, including:
- Mayku Multiplier pressure forming machine
- 7 Shot Reducing Plate
- Dental Firmware with preloaded material profiles
- Ability to create unlimited custom material profiles
- Starter Kit
- Trial PETG and EVA material sheets
- Built in air compressor
- Wi Fi firmware updates
- 12 month warranty
02 Does the Mayku come ready to use out of the box?
Yes. The machine arrives mostly assembled and only requires a few setup steps before you can begin. After connecting to Wi Fi and completing the initial registration we were ready to start learning the machine and making our first pulls.
03 Can you use your own thermoforming materials?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of the Mayku is the ability to create custom material profiles. We successfully created our first custom profile for Keystone material and plan to continue testing many other orthodontic materials throughout this review.
04 Does it require an external air compressor?
No. The Mayku has a built in compressor so it only requires a standard electrical outlet. There is no need for shop air or additional plumbing which makes installation quick and simple. As an added bonus the machine includes an air outlet on the back that can be used for accessories such as a blow gun.
05 Is the interface easy to learn?
We found the interface to be clean and straightforward. After connecting to Wi Fi we spent some time learning the controls and creating our first custom material profiles.
06 Is the 7 Shot Plate included?
Yes. The Dental Bundle includes the 7 Shot Plate which allows smaller production runs using standard size material instead of the full 428 mm sheet. We will be testing both configurations.
07 How much bench space does it require?
Footprint: 23"(L) x 20"(W) x 16.5"(H) Weight 125lbs
The Mayku is larger than a traditional pressure former, so plan your workspace before delivery. The machine weighs approximately 125 pounds so two people are recommended for lifting it into place. Make sure your countertop is sturdy enough to safely support the machine and leaves enough room to load material and remove finished pulls.
08 How much maintenance is required?
Most routine maintenance involves keeping the machine clean and following the on screen maintenance reminders. Regular tasks include wiping the seal and forming bed clean checking the heat sensor and reflector for debris occasionally lubricating the guide rails if needed and draining the internal air tanks to remove any moisture buildup. The machine also includes built in maintenance prompts that guide you through these tasks when they are due.
As we continue long term testing we will also report how the machine holds up over thousands of forming cycles and whether any components require replacement over time.
09 Can I finance the machine?
Financing may be available for qualified buyers. Low or no money down options may be available through Orthodontic Lab Solutions, depending on approval and current lending programs.
View financing information10 Where is it manufactured?
Designed by Mayku in the United Kingdom and shipped from a US distribution center.
Our review unit shipped from the Memphis, Tennessee distribution center, although shipping locations may vary depending on your region.

Independent Editorial Standards
Built by an Orthodontic Lab Owner. Not a Marketing Company.
For nearly 30 years, I've owned and operated orthodontic labs in Northern California. During that time I've built multiple ortho labs, redesigned workflows and implemented new technology to help our lab become more efficient and consistent. We were also proud to become the first fully digital orthodontic lab in Northern California. Along the way I've made some great investments and some costly mistakes, but every lesson has come from working in a real production environment where quality, consistency and efficiency matter every single day.
I created the Equipment Resource Center because I couldn't find the kind of honest, practical information I was looking for before making major purchasing decisions. Most of what I found came from marketing departments or sales people, instead of labs who actually depend on these products and equipment every day. The resources I was looking for simply didn't exist. My goal is to provide the kind of guidance I wish I had years ago, built on real laboratory testing, long term use and hands on experience.
Everything you'll find here is evaluated from the perspective of an ortho lab owner, not a salesperson. Every review, scorecard and recommendation is based on real world performance, not manufacturer claims, paid rankings or sponsored opinions. If a product earns my recommendation, it's because it proved itself in a working orthodontic lab and delivered real value where it matters most.
That same philosophy is the foundation of Orthodontic Lab Solutions. As an authorized reseller for carefully selected manufacturers and trusted industry partners, I only represent products and equipment I genuinely believe in and would confidently use in my own lab. My goal has never been to sell you equipment. My goal is to help you make informed decisions, avoid costly mistakes and invest in solutions that are right for your laboratory.
I don't represent products because I'm an authorized reseller. I'm an authorized reseller because I believe in the products I represent.
Whether you're researching your next piece of equipment, upgrading your workflow or building a new lab from the ground up, I hope this Equipment Resource Center gives you the knowledge, confidence and honest guidance to make informed decisions and invest in solutions that are right for your labs needs. And if you ever need help planning a new lab, redesigning your workflow, selecting equipment/products or navigating the buying process, I'm always happy to help.
If I wouldn't buy it for my own lab, I won't recommend it for yours.
